The lightning rod system KDA-LU is a protection system against electrical storms (SPTE). Its main function is to intercept, conduct, and disperse the lightning current and internal elements using unions, shielding, and grounding. The objective of an SPTE is to reduce the risk of damaging people, other living beings, structures, buildings, and their contents.

The Lightning rod tip and current conductor is designed in highly conductive aluminum that takes part of an external protection system against electrical storms (SEPTE),  to reduce the risk of an electrical surge caused by lightning. It's designed to effectively catch an atmospheric discharge and conduct it to ground. A 2/0 (double zero) caliber lined cable is recommended for installation.

The tip is supported by a solid mast of 1.20 meters to which the cable is connected via three 5/16 inch oppressors. This mast has a dielectric rubber insulator in the inferior part which fits in a 2-inch tubular mast. This last one holds both masts during the installation, either in a tower or roof through a base and brackets.
